It does as well since it will make your metabolism fast. It would be up to you which workout are you more comfortable with. The other thing that you need to consider is diet. You can’t just rely on your workout and still eat like there is no tomorrow (unless you are skinny of course). It’s like this, if you are fat, you consume a lot of calories and take less of it. But if you are thin, you need to take a lot of calories and consume less and as for the right food that you need to eat, well, the usual. Vegetables, meat, fish, and carbohydrates such as rice, bread, and pasta (it would be better if you would eat the brown ones).

Those are the two things you need to consider in losing or gaining weight and muscles. If you can do this, I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to build muscles. You can even see the improvement after 3 months if you can maintain a balance diet and of course, your workout. By the way, another thing that you need to remember is rewarding yourself when you get to reach your goal. You don’t need to torture yourself. All you need is a goal you can reach and at the same time, having fun doing it.
